<p>With over a billion users, today&#8217;s Internet is arguably the most successful human artifact ever created. The Future Internet, an initiative driven by the European Union, has become a prime research focus of STI International and the Service Web 3.0 project. In order to explain, promote, and attract new contributors, we created a video to be viewed by stakeholders, who may be non-experts, in a new generation Internet. The video outlines the basic themes of the European Union&#8217;s Future Internet initiative. These include: an Internet of Services, where services are ubiquitous; an Internet of Things where in principle every physical object becomes an online addressable resource; a Mobile Internet where 24/7 seamless connectivity over multiple devices is the norm; and the need for semantics in order to meet the challenges presented by the dramatic increase in the scale of content and users.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many people get confused about the role of advertising in the marketing mix so here&#8217;s a simple view of where it fits in. In the traditional marketing model, we talk about the 4 P&#8217;s – Product, Pricing, Place and Promotion. </p>

·  Product<br />
·  Pricing<br />
·  Place<br />
·  Promotion<br />
The last section &#8211; Promotion is what we mean when we say you are &#8220;doing your marketing&#8221;. It&#8217;s your communications or your actual marketing activities.</p>
<p>But first, let&#8217;s get clear about the PURPOSE of marketing and why you want to get good at it.</p>
<p>&#8220;The PURPOSE of marketing or it&#8217;s biggest task is to</p>
<p>persuade prospects to visit you online or offline so you</p>
<p>can present your offer. Done well they come waving their</p>
<p>credit card and ready to buy so there&#8217;s no need for hard sell.&#8221;</p>
<p>Whenever and wherever you get in front of your potential market is your marketing opportunity &#8211; you are communicating or getting your message across.</p>
<p>You could say this started as far back as Babylon when the Town Crier was the only delivery method! They went around town shouting out to people to go to the marketplace and you went to the marketplace with your goods to &#8220;present your offer&#8221;.</p>
<p>With the invention of print and other technologies you now have a smorgasbord of delivery methods or media to reach people such as<br />
·   Print &#8211; newspapers, magazines, catalogues, newsletters<br />
·   Phone, mail, fax o Radio &amp; TV,<br />
·   Internet &#8211; through websites, blogs, social networking sites, email, video &amp; Audio podcasts<br />
·   Teleseminars &amp; webinars o Mobile media &#8211; Blackberrys and mobile or cell phones<br />
·   And lets not forget in person public speaking and networking<br />
Now that range adds a level of complexity. But choice is good and you don&#8217;t have to use all of these but they are available to you.</p>
<p>In any event you&#8217;ll either be speaking or writing. Simply narrow down what makes sense for you and your business and use your strengths to work out a plan.</p>
<p>JUST remember the marketing principles remain the same no matter the medium &#8211; so the PURPOSE of your marketing is still the same. To persuade prospects to visit you online or offline so you can present your offer.</p>
<p>So where does advertising fit into this?</p>
<p>Advertising is simply a subset of your marketing activities it&#8217;s the SALES function when you make the sales pitch or &#8220;present your offer&#8221;. This could be verbal or written in all the same media you use for your marketing communications. What adds to the confusion is sometimes big companies use image based ads for awareness so the &#8220;sales pitch&#8221; isn&#8217;t obvious.</p>
<p>But the primary purpose of advertising is to SELL.</p>
<p>So you create ads in one form or another and get them in front of your audience.</p>
<p>Small businesses can&#8217;t afford to waste money on image advertising that is designed for the masses to promote a well known brand. It simply isn&#8217;t designed to sell, NOW.</p>
<p>What I do and recommend is Direct Marketing which is based on one-on-one relationships and uses proven direct response advertising techniques instead of mass advertising.</p>
<p>The purpose of a direct response advertisement is to get a response, NOW! Which means these ads actually ask the prospect to DO something.</p>
<p>Whether you&#8217;re building a list, selling a product or service, an appointment or even something you are giving away &#8211; you still need to &#8220;sell&#8221; it to your prospect. And ask them to take the action you want them to take to move them through the sales process.</p>

When electricity flows through a semiconductor, it emits visible light. The LED device contains pixels, a luminous dot. Banks are using it for their business. It is run by a computer, which is controlled by a user. Learn how this media format can optimize your business.</strong></strong></p>
<p>LED advertising is a functional animated outdoor media format. As a fast-trending media system, LED, the acronym form for Light Emitting Diode, provides more versatility than most conventional types of advertisements.</p>
<p>It is a semiconductor device that emits visible light when electricity flows through it. Such emissions of light depend on electrons that flow between the anode and cathode. And the color of the visual emission, such as white, amber, blue, green and red depends on the types of impurities diffused into the silicon.</p>
<p>Every LED device contains a pixel, which is a luminous dot. The pixel is found from a petty alphanumeric single line display to full color maxi screens. Relative to the dimensions and features of the device, the pixel can be created by one or more LEDs.</p>
<p>There are five components in LED advertising display. The LED module defines the proper pitch and color. Modules come in 8 or 16 matrices, and are the basic building blocks of the display signs system.</p>
<p>You will also need an enclosure or cabinet. Every sign has to be installed into a weather-resistant outdoor cabinet. The cabinet must be capable of inside airflow to ensure that the internal electronic circuitry is not exposed to the outdoor elements.</p>
<p>There are diodes found inside the cabinet, hence, the enclosure should be durable during heavy rains and strong winds, while being able to keep the diodes ventilated. Heat is one of the enemies of diodes.</p>
<p>Each LED advertising display has a control system. The control system should be based on your needs for color and graphics. The component of control system includes a <span style="color:#990000;">computer</span>. At times, there are two computers present, labeled as the ‘sign host’ and the ‘sign server’.</p>
<p>The communication method is another component. The communication method is used by the user to communicate with the LED display. If the processor on the computer is fast, the connection is speedy as well.</p>
<p>The speed of the processor depends on the control system. Wireless communications is often used to connect the computer with the <span style="color:#990000;">LED display</span>. However, it is best to determine compatibility.</p>
<p>The user’s interface to the LED sign is the software. The few basic software functions include scheduling animations, creating animations, and playing them back. The <span style="color:#990000;">software</span> is installed on the user’s computer and on the LED sign host, relative to the control system.</p>
<p>The <span style="color:#990000;">applications</span> of LED advertising are many. The most common of them are three. The indoor LED sign displays are excellent sources of information for airports, banks, stock markets<a href="http://www.articlesfactory.com/"><img src="http://www.articlesfactory.com/pic/x.gif" border="0" alt="Free Web Content" /></a>, exhibitions and all kinds of indoor events. Indoor LED displays are also easy to install.</p>
<p>The Outdoor LED sign displays are the brightest LED display panels that you can see. They are readable especially when direct sunlight makes contact with the LED display panels.</p>

They&#8217;re reporting on World Cup fever and the view from South  Africa on Africa&#8217;s first time ever hosting the tournament.</p>
<p>And the NewsHour&#8217;s own special correspondent <a href="http://www.pbs.org/newshour/aboutus/bio_desamlazaro.html">Fred de  Sam Lazaro</a> will be reporting from South Africa on how the country is  faring 16 years after the end of apartheid and how it is handling its  World Cup host role.
